There is no grandfather clause in this ordinance. Passage of this ban means all “pit bull”-looking dogs must be removed from the city or euthanized.The ordinance passed first reading with a very tight 3-2 vote. Your voices can make a difference to change minds.

Edit 5/5/09: This bill has been removed from consideration and is now dead.
HB 189/SB 922 would remove the statewide prohibition against BSL. As the article below points out, the obvious result is that cities across Florida would be free to ban pit bulls.

Oregon politicians are apparently trying to exhaust and distract pit bull owners in an attempt to get BSL passed. Your action is needed yet again in Oregon as BSL is proposed against pit bull owners.

As with the bans proposed in Hawaii (still in committee) and New Mexico (dropped), this ban was apparently proposed “on behalf of a constituent” even though the senator claims he does not agree with it.

Apparently, if you are hospitalized by a dog that is not a pit bull in Denver (and Denver has had six times as many such hospitalizations as Boulder, a larger city without BSL), city officials do not see that as a problem.
