Florida: HB 543/SB 1276 is dead

Florida HB 543/SB 1276, which would have allowed municipalities in Florida to pass BSL as they pleased, has died in committee.

This leaves in place the current Florida state law, which prohibits municipalities from passing BSL.

Thanks to everyone who wrote the committee members and state representatives and asked them to oppose this bill.

    Mazeltov now lets see Perry Thurston go after some real issues,he has wasted Taxpayer’s money for three years now trying to promote Family-Pets Genocide,or maybe get a real job,there must be positions open for busboys or street-cleaners.

    Amen Smarock10! This crusade of his has hopefully come to an end! Such a waste of taxpayer money. I am certainly not opposed to tougher laws on back yard breeders, irresponsible pet owners, and dog bites. Those are some of the issue’s he should’ve addressed and NOT BSL.

    Marilyn it was pure politicking on Thurston’s part,he probably has never even seen a pitbull,a cheap vote-catching exercise not unlike Hitler and his neo-Nazis created in the late30′s,aiming at the “Stupid Masses” Selling FEAR with assistance of the media who create the hype.
    In a perfect world it would be Criminalised.

    Great to see people not toelrating this BSL BS. Blame the bad owners not the dog. Tougher animal abuse laws and eliminating the puppy mills and breeders is the key.

    Also get rid of Dog Fighting nothing but losers and abusers in this one.

    Pit Bulls are great remember Pete on little rascals he was beloved.

    Garfield another success story.I beleive once politicos start realising that they receive no Voter points for promoting Trashy laws like BSL this nonsense will dissappear.
    Ask Perry Thurston he has just wasted 3 years doing nothing else,he must have beleived that his name would be up in lights by now.
